This DVD contains the uncut 16mm film titled "The Great Flight: The NC4 Story."
This Navy produced film begins with the fully restored aircraft being presented to the public at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. Guests include the only living crewman from the flight. But what makes this film so cool is the vintage footage of the NC4 before and during the epic 1919 transatlantic flight, when it became the first plane to do so. Also, footage of her sister aircraft. The footage includes great shots of NC4 landing and taking off from the water. Also, footage of NC3 which was forced to make an emergency landing during the same flight, and was sailed into the Azores. The footage shows the damaged NC3 sailing into port.
This is a great DVD for anyone interested in learning of a very historic airplane and flight.
