- Summary:
- Forgive me shipmates for it's been uh, like two months since I
posted an update.... Sorry about that. The reasons have been many... a
new job here at the University that keeps me a lot busier, other
recreational activities eating away free time, other personal projects,
and frankly I haven't been getting a lot of submissions. I've stacked
up some magazine articles that need scanning and I plan on working on
that over the Holiday Break plus several other clean up jobs. I
deperately need to verify links throughout the site. If you see any
that are broken please let me know. I know about the Navy Pier-cam
being down. I'm still looking for an alternative.
Today's update - Chuck Cavanaugh visited the ship recently and toured
the newly opened Ready Rooms. Chuck sent in 17 photos and promised more
when he returns. Ike Newkirk sent in scans from the Fall 1990 issue
that includes an article about VMFP-3, CVW-5 news, and an article about
the A-12. Also posted is the Fall 2008 Midway Currents newsletter.

- Summary:
- Today's update - Ouch! It's really been over six weeks since the
last update? Where has the Summer gone? I've uploaded a few updates and
still have a few more to go. Vic Vydra sent in a cool photo of him
manning one of the TV consoles in X Division circa 1972. He also sent
in a graphic for the 2008 Flying Squad Reunion held aboard the ship.
The graphic is in memory of the three Flying Squad members killed inthe
1990 explosion and fire. Pete Switzer sent in some Snoopy airplan
cartoons from the '80's and also a very nice 1986 issue of the Midway
Multiplex commemorating the first Hornets to arrive aboard Midway. Gary
Schelin sent in photos of a VA-185 jacket with Midway patches. The huge
patch on the back is especially cool!
- I also noticed recently that Gallery Comments was inadvertently
turned on when I did the upgrade. Needless to say, the gallery was
polluted with spam comments. I didn't notice any legit comments when I
did a brief scan, so I wiped them all out and turned off the module.

- Summary:
- Today's update - The Photo / Video Gallery is undergoing a major
upgrade. The menu bar link now points to the new Gallery, however, the
migration is not complete. I am also still tweaking the look and feel.
I wanted to go ahead and release to the public now so the Gallery link
at least came up with something. I'll post further progress later. Buzz
OBTW - the links for the old updates no longer work, so I'm starting
off with a fresh "What's New!" page.
